Aston Villa confirm transfer decision after ‘impressive’ Man City statement

Aston Villa have confirmed that Kaine Kesler Hayden has been recalled from his loan at Swindon Town.

Kesler Hayden spent the first half of the season on loan at County Ground and put in an impressive performance in what turned out to be his last game for Ben Garner’s side against Manchester City in the FA Cup third round. Friday night.

Kesler Hayden has been superb against a City side that started Gabriel Jesus, Bernardo Silva and Kevin De Bruyne.

Back at Villa Park, Kesler Hayden will secure another loan to a side in a higher division than Swindon’s Ligue 2 or compete with Matty Cash at right-back on Steven Gerrard’s side.

The former is the most likely path for Kesler Hayden, whose only senior appearance so far for Villa has come in the FA Cup loss to Liverpool last year when a coronavirus outbreak forced Dean Smith to release a team of young players.

Kesler Hayden has made 21 appearances for Swindon, who is battling for a place in the fourth tier playoffs this season, scoring once and registering two assists.

Speaking to social media, the 19-year-old thanked Swindon for hosting him.

“It’s hard for me to write this but unfortunately my time in Swindon is over, what an amazing race we had,” he said on Twitter.
