Ange Postecoglou’s latest statement of intent should excite Celtic fans
Ange Postecoglou has reiterated his intention to build something special at Celtic, telling reporters he has only scratched the surface of what he can do at Glasgow.
Very few people in Scotland knew who Postecoglou was at this time last year, but he is now on the verge of a famous Premiership title.
If you listen to what the Celtic manager has to say, that’s just the beginning too. He has big ambitions at the Bhoys beyond what we’ve seen this season.
Speaking to The Times over the weekend, the Celtic boss said: “I like new challenges, I like going to different countries and experiencing different cultures and working with different types of players. I really enjoy that.
“I probably don’t train my best if I feel comfortable. I love that little bit of the unknown, it tends to bring out the best in me.
“It will always be in me: where is the next leap I can take? I haven’t had too many stumbles along the way.
“If I have a big stumble at any point it may realign my vision of what’s next, but I’m enjoying it right now and at this club I’ve just scratched the surface. It’s the first year of trying to build something that will be special.
If what Ange has been up to over the past year only scratches the surface, we could have an even better time ahead of us.
Boosted by Champions League money and the players naturally improving as a group heading into a second season, there’s no reason to think Postecoglou haven’t been right either.
Celtic have not reached this level to stand still. Not under this director. He will push for the best and I am incredibly excited to see this all unfold.
In other news, Report: 2 teams are already interested in Celtic midfielder Nir Bitton.
